Responsibilities and Qualifications
Perform direct patient are including assessment, evaluation, and basic life support according to the goals of Mercy, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, Standard of Care, and Employee Code of Conduct. EMT-A’s may also perform clerical, dispatch, and maintenance duties as needed by the office. Performs related duties as assigned.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
- Licensure: State of Arkansas EMT license, Hazmat awareness level training. State of Arkansas EMT license, ITLS provider (within first 90 days of employment), Hazmat awareness level training. State of Arkansas EMT license, ITLS provider (within first 90 days of employment), Hazmat awareness level training, State of Arkansas drivers license for co-workers in Arkansas.
- Experience: Applicants must at least 20 years of age to operate the Mercy EMS vehicles.
- Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: May be required to work differing shifts and schedules. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads. Work in all climatic conditions of the NWA region. Is exposed to the elements on a daily basis; incurring dangerous situations on an occasional basis. Lift and carry pre-hospital care equipment and patients over all types of terrain. Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip at 75 lbs. plus, pinch up to 20 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl occasionally.
