Distributed Systems - Server Technical Architect

About the team
The Default Manager (DM) team supports an online collections and customer service system used by Financial Institutions (Retail Banks) and Automotive/Equipment Finance companies to service their Loan/Lease customers. DM is a client/server based application with a GUI front-end. It is an intranet application. DM has both online and batch components and can support various lending customer service type activities including: Loan/Lease Collections, End of Term, Re-marketing, Demographic Changes, Reports, Letters, Vendor Interface Files and Marketing activities.Auto & Equip Finance hosts the Default Manager application for auto captive finance customers. The Default Manager application is a robust application used to service accounts and support collection activities.
What you will be doing
Using your five or more years of experience as a Systems/Server Architect you will be working with the world's largest global provider dedicated to financial technology solutions to analyze business and technical requirements to determine system design and potential issues. You will also be providing advanced technical expertise and oversight for resolution of outages and service level issues in partnership with support teams while creating and maintaining client relationships!
Ability to create install plans via Change Management ticketing process and through playbooks.
Assist and support third-party software upgrades and migrations.
Learn quickly and independently problem solve, balance multiple works streams concurrently, and work collaboratively with the team.
Produces architectural designs using common tools such as Visio and PowerPoint
Technical liaison between development teams and infrastructure operations to establish and maintain network connectivity, firewall rules, security/access/authentication, debug and resolve any issues insuring high availability of SW development and test environments.
Assists developers and tester in debugging S/W issues by analyzing server logs and remediating.
Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals.
Support activities during schedule changes or in an “on-call / after-hours” situation.
This role is a production role so will have night and weekend work as part of your responsibilities.
What you bring:
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
5+ Years of experience in Systems/Server Architecture and knowledge of FIS Default Manager product
Positive outlook, strong work ethic and responsive to internal and external customers and contacts
Willingly and successfully fulfills the role of teacher, mentor and coach
UNIX experience - AIX required or Red Hat Linux (minimum 8 years)
Java 1.6 and higher releases, WebSphere 8.x and Webserver experience - work experience with Apache or IIS/IHS and plug-ins experience (minimum 5 years)
Windows Server and troubleshooting, including network related issues and issues with multi-tier applications on distributed systems and experience (minimum 3 years)
Experience with solution design in complex environments (5 years)
