Supports delivery of Walmart & Crayola category volume and share objectives by providing analytical reporting, modular planning, and insight translation. This position will work closely with Walmart merchant and modular planning teams to leverage all aspects of the Category Management function as the official category advisor. Day-to-day tasks and workflow will be primarily driven by Walmart merchandising and modular teams.


• Manage the day-today category reporting for the Walmart merchant team including key seasonal periods (Easter, BTS, Holiday)
• Manage and lead the day-today modular planning function from conception to execution in conjunction with Walmart merchant and modular planning teams
• Manage category management analyst to assist in day-today reporting and modular planning activities.
• Function as an objective data translator through regular interaction with Walmart merchandising team members.
• Collaborate with Walmart merchants in the development and implementation of strategic category plans that achieve both Crayola and the customer’s category growth goals.
• Translate consumer and shopper data from multiple sources into actionable retail strategies.
• Performs ad-hoc analysis generated from Walmart and Crayola that triangulates consumer, shopper, customer, and category insights as required with actionable recommendations.
• Analyze market & class of trade information identifying opportunities to grow the business and meet mutually agreed upon objectives.
• Present findings to buyers influencing buying decisions.
• Analyze customer needs, objectives and strategies improving seasonal or category sell through.
• Develop account specific plans to increase sales, profitability and other account objectives.

• Enters into a full category management engagement with Walmart focused on full data exchange and custom shopper research.
• Utilizes internal, third party, and customer data to create standard and ad hoc reports, support presentation development, and develop team strategies.
• Develops long-term strategic relationships with core customer decision-makers.
• Deliver volume and share objectives.
• Train and educate sales force on data utilization


• BA or BS in business related studies (MBA plus).
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer and category management.
• Classically trained with a major CPG manufacturer in the areas of category management, planograming, account P&L’s, and analytics/insights.
• Previous Walmart Category Advisor experience preferred
• Prior direct people management experience preferred
• Advanced command of the following software applications: ProSpace, Excel, PowerPoint, & Syndicated data systems (IRI,Neilsen,NPD) and assigned Walmart applications (eg. Retaillink, Inforetriver, workbench, RSI)
• Strong presentation, oral and written communication skills.
• Strong Analytical skills – able to quickly identify trends, opportunities and business solutions.
• Experience translating retailer POS and creating action plans
• Strong attention to detail in a fast paced, demanding work environment.
• Strong organizational and follow up skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
