Position Purpose
A Senior Farm Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of a turkey laying farm. In this role the senior lead will be expected to manage and focus on the following:
1.Enforce and follow a strict biosecurity policy.
2.Enforce and follow a strict Animal Welfare policy.
3.Have good communication skills and work well with others.
4.Responsible for leading hourly personnel and working with them daily while managing the flock.
5.Managing the flock during egg production to meet company expectation is required.
6.Leading the artificial insemination crew to achieve company expectations on fertility.
7.Senior Lead makes sure that the farm is clean and disinfected and maintains proper housekeeping at all times.
8.Assure that the required supplies and inventory are maintained to operate the farm.
9.Monitoring flock health and keeping records on flock performance is required.
10.Business will be conducted in accordance with all Cargill policies and any local, state, and federal laws.
11.Perform any additional job duties assigned by the Breeder Manager or Breeder Flock Supervisor.

The candidate will be required to attend meetings that may be held off-site that are financial, safety, animal welfare, and HR related in nature. Employee must provide own personal and reliable transportation.

Principal Accountabilities
65%Manage the daily operation of a turkey laying farm including egg production and artificial insemination.
15%Safety Program implementation and training.
10%Animal Welfare Program implementation and training
10% Data entry and inventory of supplies.




Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•Comfort and ability to speak in front of an audience and interact with employees at all levels.
•High level of accuracy with attention to detail
•Keen Sense of Priorities and Relentless Determination
•Ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy with confidential and sensitive matters.
•Promotes an inclusive environment and seeks ways to integrate differences.
•Solid working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
•Must be able to work without constant supervision.
•Must be willing to work two weekends per month.
•Must be willing to work with the artificial insemination crew and fill in for farm associates as needed.
•Must be able to read, speak and write in English.


Preferred Qualifications

•Minimum 6 months of experience leading people.
•College Degree preferred.
•Experience in the field of turkey production preferred.
