Job Title Technician Assistant

Summary TheTechnicianAssistant assists/works within his/her assigned area under the supervision of qualified repair station personnel and may perform specific or general duties such as: supplying skilled workers with materials, tools, and supplies; cleaning work area, machines, parts, and equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Know and understand company and departmental policies and procedures.

2. Acquire and maintain proper hand tools necessary to complete work assigned.

3. Clean, disassemble and identify components.

4. Knowledge and use of basic hand tools.

5. Process maintenance forms and authorizes by their signature and date after work is completed.

6. Notify the Director of Quality Assurance of suspected un-airworthy conditions found during the performance of his/her duties.

7. Assure parts received from stock are properly identified.

8. Accomplish his/her work in accordance with proper aircraft standards, manufacturer s approved data, and/or FAA approved/accepted data.

9. Other various duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education; Experience High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); basic hand tool knowledge preferred

Language Skills Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Mathematical Skills Basic math skills

Skills and Abilities:

Q Use of basic hand tools and a good understanding of basic mechanics.

Q With assistance of verbal or physical instruction disassembly and cleaning

Q Demonstrate a basic understanding of the proper usage of Current Manufacturer s Maintenance Manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.

Q Must be able to understand, read and write English.

Q Recite back instruction of their assigned duties.

The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The schedule of work hours are dictated by work load, production flow, and customer services needs.

Work hours may include additional hours beyond a normally scheduled work week.
