Category Advisor Manager

Position Purpose:

The Category Advisor Manager contributes to the achievement of U.S. Customer Development objectives by providing Category / Space Management support and in-depth analysis for the customer team and assigned external customers. Provide high quality analysis, presentations and actionable recommendations to assigned customers that lead to business decisions and results that meet or exceed expectations. Assist in developing and fostering, through timely and professional communication, business building relationships with customers key contacts that establish Unilever as a major source for all category development needs.

Role & Responsibilities
Responsible for providing category management reports, trend analysis, customized customer reports and special project work, to the buyer.
Responsible for producing weekly the Walmart Team reports and supporting categories reports. Distribute the report to to respective resources in assigned categories.
Support ongoing maintenance of category databases for use within our POS reporting tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and processes at one time. Be able to handle increasingly more responsibility as new platforms are launched.
Possess and utilize skills to dialogue with customers and create solutions to problem areas.
Consumer / Shopper Insights
Support preparation of customer presentations by identifying relevant facts and insights using Retail Link, ACNielsen, and Unilever consumer / shopper insights. Present key information to the buyer.
Responsible for conducting total category management analyses studies in order to improve category strategies and plans.
Communication skills enhanced skills in order to handle the multiple sources of information and the coordination of items to be proposed and carried in the category modulars

Quarterly Planning Session Prep /Modular Line Review Prep
Support total category management analyses studies through the gathering of relevant facts and insights. Prepare presentation of the review with the Walmart buyer in order to improve category strategies and plans.

Store of the Community Analysis
Support consumer and shopper insights analyses to identify Store of the Community opportunities with supervised direction on what to analyze. This analysis should support identifying traited modulars.

Modular Update Execution
Develop strategies and modular update preparation, development, and implementation conducted with manager supervision.
Attend modular update meetings and work sessions with the Walmart buyer for the purpose of modular creation and implementation in the category.
Utilize space management software to support analyses to insure appropriate inventory levels across category. Space management activities are to be guided by customer.
Utilize consumer and shopper insights along with Food category trends to identify facts and insights regarding creating category modulars that meets consumer demand and provides ease of shopping. Present these findings to the buyer with manager supervision.
Gather facts and insights to support analyses on new item introduction and store execution.

Key Requirements:
Must have a minimum of five years category management experience.
Bachelor s degree.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

-Walmart category advisory experience strongly preferred.

Additional skills set requirements:
Software - Fully proficient in space management software (Space Planning JDA). Retail Link, Nitro.
Presentation skills competency in key contact presentation and interaction with the customer buying department
Negotiation/Influencing skills conducting the modular update, with guidance from category manager, with the opportunity to optimize in areas of assortment, product placement, and inventory allocation
Project management skills enhanced skills in managing the modular update process with the category buyer and the flow of information and deliverables, interacting with Walmart s modular planning department, several Unilever cross-functional team.
Communication skills enhanced skills in order to handle the multiple sources of information and the coordination of items to be proposed and carried in the category modulars

Position is based in Rogers, AR. May travel up to 20%.
