Job: 2012 Summer Intern - Sales, Walmart SAM Team

The Walmart/SAM Intern will be part of a team that manages all operational (at retail) activities that support the American Greetings sales plan in Walmart. The intern will gain insight into the complete sales process American Greetings has in place to support Walmart, beginning with the sales proposal and ending with the merchandise being at POS in stores. This position will provide a real world sales and operations experience with frequent exposure to Senior Walmart and Senior AG sales leadership.

Your role will also be tasked with two main projects during the time on the team:

1. Space Allocation Process Review - Document all current processes in the space allocation process, from layout creation to Footage file data entry.
2. Field Communication Review - Review all seasonal and everyday communications to determine effectiveness and identify areas for needed improvement.

At the end of the program, you will get the opportunity to showcase project work before Team and Executive Leadership

This internship is located in our Walmart Sales Office in Bentonville, AR.

Experience:
During this 10-week paid internship your responsibilities will include day-to-day shadowiing of the Operations Team as they work to implement the sales plan in Walmart. This will include assisting the team in planning operational strategies for future retail programs, reacting to current opprtunities at retail, and assisting in local Bentonville activities and buyer requests (layout center prep, meeting prep). .

The ideal candidate is a Rising Junior/Senior or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Management or Marketing and has the following:
-Retail sales and/or customer service experience;
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Skills;
-Multi-tasking, cross-functional planning, time management and excellent communication skills.
